I have often wondered about microdermabrasion and what it would cost to have it done. I suppose that between $1 – $2K is probably ok considering the price of a facelift today.
I suppose that if I had that kind of cash to throw around that I would consider having this done to my face, if my skin were in bad shape. At 60 though, I have little sagginess, lumps, bumps, old acne scars and am pleased with the outcome at my age. Maybe as I grow older this might change.
I appreciate the fact that someone (you) took a great amount of time to put together this review of the different machines available. However, it seems kind of odd that the prices for some of them just weren’t available and then even some of the machines weren’t available.
Do these machines have to be approved by the food and drug administration or any other governmental agency?
And is there any special training involved to be able to practice on your own face?
Then just one more question. Would you be able to purchase the machine and go into business by offering microdermabrasion to other people for a price?
When I went to beauty school to do nails, acrylic or gel tips to be precise, there was no training for any of this in beauty school which I am sure has changed by now. I’m wondering if training in microdermabrasion for clients is offered through beauty school or is it offered through another form of governmental form of training where the testing is done through the state? It would be a great business to get into and I’m sure that the amount of money one could make would quickly pay for the price of one of these machines.
There is a lot of information given in your review which is really wonderful. I could almost pick the machine that I would purchase by reading your review.
But as usual, I don’t have that kind of money to just throw around yet anyway.
Thanks for taking the time and putting for the extra effort to really make a complete review of these machines. I have a couple of friends in the beauty industry that I plan on sending to read your reviews.

Hello Renè
Thanks for stopping by. The machines not being available or the prices being different, this is out of my control but will check.
Now to your question on microdermabrasion training, depending where you are geographicaly, some countries dont have strict rules and regulations.Im from Switzerland and it`s a must to get training before you can open a beauty spa and offer facial microdermabrasion or any beauty therapy. This may differ in other countries, I know I`ve had facials, pedicures in other countries while on vacation where I could not see any license or diploma hanging on the wall to re-assure me the person is qualified.
Microdermabrasion training is available in beauty schools, Atleast the beauty school I attended so im sure other schools offer the same.Hope this answered your questions
I appreciate your review on several different microdermabrasion machines. I purchased one years ago and haven’t gotten the use out of it that I should. I think it’s because of lack of time or just laziness. This article made me think about it collecting dust in my closet. Then again, I may want to look into getting a newer model. And you’re right, everyone should choose the machine that best fits their needs. One size does not fit all when it comes to skincare.
Hello Wendi
Get your microdermabrasion machine out and use it, why let it collect dust? before purchasiing a new machine, how about getting the money out of the old one?
Excellent site. Well put together. I found everything to be easily accessible. The graphics were consistent with the products. I definitely would give it a five star rating. Ok so I am supposed to elaborate. This is not a very easy task as I thought I already elaborated why I think it is a quality site.
Thanks for stopping by and I really appreciate your comments.
love your article, and we want to cooperate with you.
